Red Wolves secure bowl eligibility with 30-12 win over Texas State

Arkansas State football is now bowl eligible for the seventh consecutive year with a 30-12 victory over Sun Belt opponent Texas State.  The Red Wolves move to 5-1 in the SBC.

In Thursday’s SBC midweek matchup, the Red Wolves dominated the Ragin’ Cajuns both defensively and offensively.  Arkansas State defeated Louisiana 47-3.

Red Wolves defeat Coastal Carolina in homecoming victory

Fans packed into Centennial Bank Stadium for a homecoming showdown against SBC opponent Coastal Carolina. The Red Wolves defeated the Chanticleers 51-17.

Red Wolves defeat the UAPB Golden Lions 48-3

Arkansas State easily defeated the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions 48-3 in the Red Wolves home opener on Saturday night. This improved A-State’s record to 1-1 on the season. Fans totaling 24,371 were at Centennial Bank Stadium for the first football game in Jonesboro this year.

Arkansas State Hosts UAPB in an In-State Matchup

After the disappointing cancellation of the Miami game due to Hurricane Irma, Arkansas State looks forward to playing in an in-state matchup against the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (UAPB) Golden Lions next Saturday.

Red Wolves release 2016 football schedule

Three nationally televised games, and six home games highlight Arkansas State’s 2016 football schedule, that was released yesterday by the league office. The defending league champs will open up the season with a home game against the Toledo Rockets, a team that has beaten A-State the last two seasons.

Red Wolves fall to Louisiana Tech 47-28 in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl

A-State football players suspended from New Orleans Bowl following arrests

A-State football players Chris Stone and Tyler Trosin have been suspended for the New Orleans Bowl following their arrest on drug charges on Tues, Dec 8. As part of their suspension, Stone and Trosin will not participate in any practices, or travel with the team to New Orleans. The two seniors have played their final game as Red Wolves.

Red Wolves win outright league title

A-State won the outright league title on Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium by defeating the Texas State Bobcats 55-17. The Red Wolves improved their overall record to 9-3 and 8-0 in conference, just the second time in school history they have gone undefeated in Sun Belt play.

BREAKING: A-State set to play in New Orleans Bowl

Arkansas State football is headed to their fifth straight bowl game. According to ESPN’s Brent McMurphy, A-State has accepted an invitation to play in the New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. The game will be played inside the Mercedes Benz Superdome.

The Red Wolves returned to Centennial Bank Stadium to open their Sun Belt conference play against Idaho. For the second week in a row, the A-State defense gave up a touchdown on the opponent’s first possession, though the final in Saturday’s contest was 49-35 A-State.

Excitement around the A-State football program is rising, as the start of spring practice is less than a week away. Head coach Blake Anderson’s squad will kick off practice for the 2015 campaign on Friday, March 13. The Red Wolves return most of their starters from last year’s 7-6 team, and will be looking for a fifth consecutive winning season and bowl game appearance, while also competing for the Sun Belt title. Anderson, Red Wolves wrap up recruiting class

The A-State football team, coming off their fourth consecutive bowl game, announced their 2015 recruiting class on National Signing Day. The second class under the tenure of head coach Blake Anderson consisted of 17 high school players, six junior college players, and one Football Bowl Subdivision (FSB) transfer. The class was led by five players from the state of Arkansas, and also included four from Mississippi, three from Oklahoma, two from Alabama, Georgia and Kansas, and one from Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas.

Red Wolves get run over in GoDaddy Bowl

The A-State football ended their 2014-2015 season once again in Mobile, Ala. in the GoDaddy Bowl. This year’s opponent, the Mid-American conference west co-champs, the Toledo Rockets came into the game 8-4 with notable wins against A-State’s last two GoDaddy Bowl opponents, Kent State and Ball State.
