In the field of journalism, nothing is more important than your source. Credibility, trustworthiness, and timeliness are of paramount importance when vetting your story’s subject matter. Finding even one reliable source can lead to an extensive network of leads for a reporter. However, Journalism 101 also dictates we reporters never put all of our eggs in one basket.

Not so free: Ambiguous legislature has unintended consequences

I believe taking another human being’s life is immoral based on my sincerely held religious beliefs. Based on the new state legislation passed in the Arkansas Congress, I can now refuse service to military members.

Letter to the Editor: Same-sex marriage promotes love, care of children

In last week’s letter to the editor, William Kazyak gave some “down-to-earth” reasons why homosexuals should not be allowed to marry. I highly disagree on the basis that heterosexual marriages are nowhere near as perfect and loving as society makes them out to be. Because of this, I believe if a man and woman who do not even truly love each other can marry, two women or men who are completely devoted to each other should also have that same right.

Inclement weather policy encourages safety, not slacking

Too often we Arkansans think normal life is put on pause any time cold, white, fluffy stuff falls from the sky. If there is any chance of our feet flying out from under us on a damp sidewalk, we are likely to call it a day and stay indoors indefinitely.
