For Oscar Flores, program director at Red Wolf Radio, the best part of the job is freedom of self expression..

“I can be myself, have my own personality. I can talk about whatever I want to… and play the music that I like,” said Flores, a senior audio and video production major from Jonesboro.

Red Wolf Radio is a student-led online radio station. It can be listened to through the MyCampus app or on the A-State website. The station has been up since spring of 2014.

Flores got involved with Red Wolf Radio his sophomore year after changing his major from history to audio and video production.

“I got hooked to it, and realized I really want to do it for a while,” Flores said.

Flores estimates that about 12 students are currently involved with Red Wolf Radio, including a public relations director and multiple show hosts.

Flores says that Red Wolf Radio is a great opportunity for students interested in a career in radio.

“This will help you become that [on-air personality] because we’ll train you on how to talk on air, how to have a good air check… and if you just want to be yourself and play your own music, then by all means come on over.”

For students who are interested, Red Wolf Radio meets every Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Communications Building, room 155B. For more information, email Flores at
